This birthplace of forestry has three paved trails (3 miles total) that takes you through forests and past many historic buildings, exhibits, and even a locomotive.
The Cradle of Forestry has accessible/paved trails for an easy hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Families are welcome.
We're meeting at Penny Cup Coffee Co, and from there caravaning to Cradle of Forestry. The drive takes about an hour (10am-11am). See location details below
The drives are half the fun and include the Blue Ridge Parkway National Park.

After the hike it will be a choose your own adventure:
- You can wait for you flight or hangout near the airport at Sierra Nevada Mills River Taproom. We will likely arrive to this location around 2pm.
- If you aren't in a rush, we can:
- Drive by Sliding Rock and Looking Glass Falls
- Grab some ice cream at Dolly's Dairy Bar and Gift Shop
- Head back to Asheville for an early dinner at White Duck Taco Shop (Asheville / R.A.D.) by the French Broad River.
