Whether you're an experienced developer who is new to Drupal, a new site administrator who has to learn the Drupal back-end, or just someone looking to learn, we will have hands-on classroom training to provide an Introduction to Drupal.

If you are new to Drupal, this Absolute Beginner's Guide to Drupal is the class for you. This training will get you up-and-running with Drupal.

You'll learn all of the key concepts you need to understand, navigate and use a Drupal site. You'll learn how to build a Drupal 8 site, from content and user organization, to working with modules and themes.

This class will be entirely hands-on. You'll have a Drupal site in front of you and will be actively working and learning throughout the class.

Training: 9am - 5pm

  • Part 1: Introduction to Drupal: What? Who? When? Why?
  • Part 2: Installing Drupal
  • Part 3: Navigating the Drupal interface
  • Part 4: Understanding Drupal content
  • Part 5: Managing Drupal content using content types
  • Part 6: Adding data fields to Drupal content
  • Part 7: Choosing and configuring modules
  • Part 8: Choosing and configuring themes
  • Part 9: Configuring and working with Drupal user permissions

Birds of a Feather Discussions/Un-Conference

Drupal has a strong tradition of Birds of a Feather (BoF) sessions: informal meetings to discuss specific topics. We encourage you to organize among yourselves and meet up with other attendees with similar interests. To help facilitate this, we plan to set up some general topics with facilitators. Currently planned topics include Agile Project Management, Drupal Commerce, Hosting/Devops, Accessibility, and more. If you are interested in facilitating a topic, please contact us.

Friday: 12pm - 5pm
Lunch will be provided at Noon.

  • Security - Mark Shropshire

  • Project Management - Justin Rhodes

Q&A Bar

Have a Drupal question? We (might) have the answer. If not, we can probably find someone who does. Our Q&A Bar will be set up to help you through your Drupal problems. It is also a great place to continue discussions that start in a session after that session ends.

Want to help others who have questions? Come help out at the Q&A Bar.

Friday: 1pm - 5pm

Co-Working

Need to work on a project? Have some time between BoF sessions? Come work with us! We'll have dedicated co-working spaces set up. Enjoy the camaraderie of others in the Drupal community.

Friday: 9am - 5pm

Sprints

Want to learn how to contribute to Drupal? We'll have sprint mentors available to walk you through the process. If you want to organize a formal sprint on a dedicated topic, let us know.
